The Fast snap makes testing internet speeds on your Ubuntu Core device simple.

Fast.com is an yet another website for testing your internet speeds. It’s powered by Netflix and it’s extremely simple (and no ads). But if you’re running Ubuntu Core it’s not simple to open a webpage just to test your internet speeds. However, there is a snap of Fast, and you can use it on the command line. You can install it like any other snap: sudo snap install fast. Running it is even easier: fast. It doesn’t take any options and it has no help menu either. It has only one function, test your internet speed (download speeds only).

Below, I’ll install the fast snap and run it.
